The Proof Is In the Pudding CrankaTsuris (Red Herring Edition)

Ahhh — now we’re cooking!
So in The Proof Is in the Pudding CrankaTsuris, the “smoking gun” saucepan isn’t the clincher at all — it’s a full-blown red herring. The Grumbles chase it like it’s the key to the case, only to discover it’s just a decoy in the Great Dessert Trial of the Century.

Let’s stage m the chapter with that twist baked right in:

🎙️ Episode 68: “The Proof Is in the Pudding CrankaTsuris” — The Red Herring Edition

Tagline: The pudding’s missing, the gun is smoking, and the truth is a decoy.

[00:00–00:30] INTRO MUSIC

SFX: Dessert cart squeaks, gavel bangs, faint whiff of custard steam, Birdie yelling:
BIRDIE: “NO PUDDING, NO PROOF!”
MUSIC: Klezmer remix of Another One Bites the Crust.

[00:30–02:00] OPENING MONOLOGUE

DEBBIE (narrating):
Steven… this is a courtroom drama where the evidence is warm, the witnesses are unreliable, and the dessert is missing in action.
We’re calling it The Proof Is in the Pudding CrankaTsuris — because in this family, even if you’ve got a smoking gun, it might just be a red herring.
And in Grumble Court, a red herring is just another reason to pass the kugel and doubt everything.

[02:00–05:00] Segment 1: Sylvia’s Dessert Defense

SYLVIA:
I made chocolate pudding.
BARRY:
Where is it?
SHAYNA:
Did you bring it?
GRANDPA HERSCHEL:
Was it even refrigerated?
BIRDIE:
“NO PUDDING, NO PROOF!”

[05:00–08:00] Segment 2: The Smoking Gun (Red Herring)

BARRY:
I found the smoking gun — the saucepan, still warm, chocolate residue inside.
SYLVIA:
That’s not proof.
SHAYNA:
Could be from last year’s mousse.
GRANDPA HERSCHEL:
Or from the gravy incident of ’09.
BIRDIE:
“FALSE LEAD! RED HERRING! CASE STILL COLD!”

[08:00–11:00] Segment 3: Shayna’s Pudding Alibi

SHAYNA:
I saw the pudding in the fridge.
TINA:
Was it labeled?
BARRY:
Was there a timestamp?
BIRDIE:
“VISUALS WITHOUT TASTING ARE INADMISSIBLE!”

[11:00–14:00] Segment 4: Grandpa Herschel’s Custard Confession

GRANDPA HERSCHEL:
I ate the pudding.
SYLVIA:
Then prove it.
BARRY:
Produce the spoon.
BIRDIE:
“EVIDENCE DESTROYED!”

[14:00–17:00] 🎧 SPONSOR PARODY SEGMENT

VOICEOVER:
This episode is brought to you by Pudditify™ Legal Edition — the only app that delivers pudding and cross-examines it.
Pudditify™: Because without pudding, your smoking gun might just be a red herring.
BIRDIE (voiceover):
Now with Decoy Detector™ — identifies false leads before dessert is served.

[17:00–20:00] Segment 5: Tina’s Dessert Diversion

TINA:
I brought pie instead.
SHAYNA:
That’s not proof.
BARRY:
That’s a mistrial.
BIRDIE:
“CASE DISMISSED!”

[20:00–26:00] CLOSING MONOLOGUE

DEBBIE (narrating):
In this family, the proof is always in the pudding — and even if you’ve got a smoking gun, it might just be a red herring.
So next time you want to be believed, don’t just bring your evidence… bring the dessert.
And maybe a fish, just to keep them guessing.
