DEBBIE (narrating):
Welcome back to Generations of Grumbles, the podcast where family bonding is tested in the most chaotic of placesâwaiting rooms, tech support, and today⊠the digital disaster zone known as the family group text.
Todayâs episode: The Family Group Text CrankaTsuris.
Because nothing says âtogethernessâ like 97 unread messages and one accidental emoji that looks like a pickle.
đ± Segment 1: The Message That Started It All
[SFX: Phone buzz, typing sounds, confused murmurs]
DEBBIE:
I sent one message.
Just one.
âDinner Sunday at 5?â
What followed was a digital avalanche of confusion, chaos, and cat emojis.
JAKE:
I replied âđâ but it autocorrected to âđŠ.â
TINA:
I said âIâm in,â but my phone changed it to âIâm ink.â
Now everyone thinks I got a tattoo.
đ§ Segment 2: Mortyâs Texting Style
MORTY:
I text in ALL CAPS.
Itâs not yelling. Itâs clarity.
Also, I sign every message ââMORTYâ so you know itâs me.
DEBBIE:
Morty once replied âKâ to a 47-message thread.
Then sent a follow-up that just said âWHEREâS THE BRISKET?â
đ§ Segment 3: Maxâs Security Concerns
MAX:
I donât trust group texts.
I think the emojis are tracking me.
DEBBIE:
Max sends encrypted messages through a separate app.
We think heâs just texting himself.
đ§ Segment 4: Zoeâs Sticker Spam
ZOE:
I sent 14 GIFs of dancing llamas.
And one that says âIâm sparkly and emotionally unstable.â
DEBBIE:
She also added 37 stickers to the chat.
Schmutzy barked at every one.
đŸ Segment 5: Schmutzyâs Digital Debut
[SFX: Barking, voice memo playback, tail thumping]
SCHMUTZY (barking):
Woof! I sent a voice memo!
It sounds like a sneeze and a squirrel fight!
DEBBIE:
He also accidentally FaceTimed the whole family.
From under the couch.
đ Segment 6: Princess Tsurisâs Keyboard Crimes
[SFX: Cat walking on keyboard, random typing]
DEBBIE:
Princess Tsuris walked across my phone and sent âxjklmeow.â
Morty thought it was Yiddish.
Tina tried to translate it.
Barry added it to his calendar.
đ§ Segment 7: Barryâs Existential Reply
BARRY:
I replied âMaybe.â
Then muted the thread.
Iâve been at peace ever since.
DEBBIE:
Heâs the only one who escaped.
We envy him.
đïž Outro
DEBBIE:
So whatâs the moral?
Group texts are like family dinnersâloud, confusing, and someone always brings kale.
But if you can survive autocorrect, emoji warfare, and a dog who thinks heâs a tech influencerâŠ
You can survive anything.
Even brunch.
