[00:30–01:30] OPENING MONOLOGUE

DEBBIE (narrating):
Welcome back to Generations of Grumbles, the podcast where every conversation is a group therapy session disguised as a shouting match.
Today’s episode: Deaf in Both Ears CrankaTsuris.
Because in this family, hearing is optional, guilt is amplified, and brunch is always misheard as betrayal.

[01:30–04:00] Segment 1: Morty’s Hearing Aid Apocalypse

SFX: Feedback squeal, kazoo panic, Schmutzy barking in Morse code
MORTY:
I turned up my hearing aid.
I heard Sylvia’s sigh from 1993.
SYLVIA:
I told you! I told you! I told you!
You don’t need batteries. You need emotional resonance.
JAKE:
I whispered “I love you.” Morty heard “I left you.”

[04:00–06:00] Segment 2: Sylvia’s Sonic Scrolls & Emotional Echoes

SFX: Scroll unrolling, dramatic sigh, laminated rustling
SYLVIA:
I created a sound map.
Each family member has a frequency.
Barry’s is guilt. Tina’s is denial.
ZOE:
Mine’s just static.
SYLVIA:
That’s because you haven’t processed your brisket trauma.
PRINCESS TSURIS (meowing):
Meow. Translation: “I hear judgment in every kibble crunch.”

[06:00–08:00] Segment 3: Shayna’s ASMR Disaster

SFX: TikTok notification, whispering brisket, confused GPS voice
SHAYNA:
I tried ASMR with the family.
It became a horror podcast.
BARRY:
I whispered “love you.”
Grandpa Herschel thought I said “move out.”
SHAYNA:
Trending under #BrisketBuzzFail and #WhisperWars

[08:00–10:00] Segment 4: Dr. Mindy’s Auditory Diagnosis

SFX: Pen scribbling, couch creak, sigh
DR. MINDY:
This family suffers from chronic auditory guilt syndrome.
They only hear what confirms their emotional insecurities.
SYLVIA:
I hear brunch. I feel betrayal.
DEBBIE:
I said “pass the kugel.” Sylvia heard “you never loved me.”

[10:00–12:00] Segment 5: Grandpa Herschel’s Sonic Souvenirs

SFX: Cassette rewinding, accordion nostalgia, compass spinning
GRANDPA HERSCHEL:
I collect sounds.
I have a recording of Sylvia sighing in 1987.
MAX:
Why?
GRANDPA HERSCHEL:
It’s the sound of disappointment. I play it before bed.
SCHMUTZY (barking):
Woof! Translation: “I swallowed a Bluetooth speaker. I now bark in surround sound.”

[12:00–14:00] 🎧 SPONSOR PARODY SEGMENT

SFX: Feedback loop, kazoo jingle, sighs
DEBBIE (narrating):
This episode is sponsored by MisGuidance™: Sonic Edition—
The only app that translates guilt into sound waves and reroutes your emotions through passive-aggressive GPS.
VOICEOVER (Sylvia-style):
MisGuidance™: Now featuring Sylvia’s voice saying “I told you so” at every turn and Uncle Saul whispering “You should’ve called.”
SCHMUTZY (barking):
Woof! Translation: “I downloaded it. I now bark in guilt-based surround sound with laminated regret.”

[14:00–16:00] Twist Ending

SFX: Family chatter, hearing aid feedback, dramatic pause
DEBBIE:
Just as everyone shouted “What did you say?!”
Uncle Saul whispered, “I love you.”
No one heard it.
Except Birdie.
BIRDIE (squawk):
“I heard that. I’m emotionally fluent.”
PRINCESS TSURIS (meowing):
Meow. Translation: “I led the resistance. We’re tuning out the guilt.”

[16:00–18:00] CLOSING MONOLOGUE

DEBBIE (narrating):
So what’s the takeaway?
In this family, hearing is optional, guilt is amplified, and brunch is always misheard as betrayal.
And if you think no one’s listening…
Sylvia probably laminated your silence.

[18:00–20:00] OUTRO MUSIC

SFX: Klezmer with kazoo harmonies, hearing aid percussion, Birdie squawking “I CAN’T HEAR YOU!” in three languages
MUSIC: Accordion fade-out with GPS saying “You have arrived… sonically.”
